Charity Update July 2022

Ban Huai Lua School, Thailand

Facebook Page

We are happy to be supporting the school lunch program with our monthly donation. This money goes toward buying food staples such as rice, noodles, sauces and school other cooking supplies

These supplies are supplemented by vegetables and fruit that the students grow on their school farm. This teaches them important life skills as well as building pride in their small local school.

The head teacher in this small rural mountainside school is a new university graduate and is doing a 2 year placemenet at this small school. We have spoken to him and he's concerned about the student welfare after he finishes his term and moves on to other positions.

That shows you his dedication to the students and we have assured him that Pubbets will continue sending either monetary donations or food packages each month to help with the school lunches.

We will be meeting the teacher next week and I'll be giving him some Pubbet puppets to use in the classroom. I'm sure the kids will love it!

Pubbets donated USD$100 to this school which was used to buy food supplies.

Hand 2 Hand Foundation, Thailand

Facebook page

Margie and her team at the Hand to Hand Foundation in Chonburi, Thailand have a number of different programs that help disadvantaged people, from families living in local slum areas to prisoners in the nearby jail.

This month I decided to donate $200 to their garden project which provides fresh fruit and vegetables to people in need. This donation will pay the salary for one full-time gardener and the benefits are fantastic.

We donated $200 through the online donation link at Global Giving

Hands of God Charity, Philippines

Facebook page

We have been following the challenges faced by one of the sponsored kids at the Hands of God Charity in the Philippines and were overjoyed when her leukemia went into remission after treatment last year.

Unfortunately, the cancer has returned and 4 year old Tami has once again been undergoing an intensive treatment program of chemo and testing. We contacted her mother directly and pledged to donate $250 from the sale of 5 custom puppets.

So far we have sold 3 of these and the money was transferred and used for medical expenses and supplies for Tami. We continue to pray for her recovery and urge you to do the same. She's a great kid and deserves a chance to enjoy a full and happy life.

It's heartbreaking to see children facing such hardship and I think you'll agree that our charity funds are going to a good cause here. Pubbets will continue to support this charity and we donated $150 for July 2022

Mission Samburu

Facebook page

Pubbets sponsors two students in Africa which covers their food, clothing and school costs. This is an ongoing sponsorship of $90 USD which covers both of the children.

Senteyio

Senteyio is 4 years old and from a very humble family background. His father is not employed and married to two wives. As a result, Senteyio is in a large family of children, where two children in the family are disabled. Senteyio is therefore in great financial need. Sponsorship offered to him will be a blessing to his life.

Esther Nangai Leokoe.

Esther is a young 9 year old girl, who was born prematurely (approximately 12 weeks before the actual time of birth) and was born with a condition known as hydrocephalus (a build up of excess fluid in and around the brain).

From the time she was born up till now, she uses a small plastic pipe connected from her head to the body, to drain the excess water to sustain her in her condition. This comes after a surgery that was done a few days following her birth.

Her life situation is therefore delicate and needs a lot of attention and care. Esther's parents are not employed. Her father has a second wife and a large number of children.

Please like our Pubbets Facebook page here for the latest updates!

Thank you to everyone who has bought a Pubbet puppet or any of our other products. 10% of all profit goes to our charity work and we're making real and positive changes in the lives of so many disadvantaged kids.
